DWCS Season 10 Week 9 Results: Four Contracts Earned in a First-Round Blitz

Week 9 of Dana White's Contender Series Season 10 was over in a hurry: four first-round finishes across five fights, and four UFC contracts handed out at the Meta Apex.

Dana White signed Preston LaGrange, Salhahuddin "Sal" Everett, Roque Conceição and Mateus Soares. The one fight that went the distance — Alivia Bierley's unanimous decision over Summer Onley — was the one that didn't produce a contract.

Who earned a contract

• Preston LaGrange — fought at middleweight all his career, stepped up to 205 on two weeks' notice, and stopped the unbeaten Ariano (6-0) in 2:24. Every light heavyweight winner this season has been signed, and LaGrange made sure he was one.
• Salhahuddin "Sal" Everett — Dana White's own personal assistant turned contender. Five pro wins, all in the first round — this one a 1:57 KO of Martin. From the boss's staff to the boss's roster.
• Roque Conceição Moreira Jr. — made good on a second Contender Series appearance, tapping previously unbeaten Chavez (9-0) with a triangle choke in round one.
• Mateus Soares — needed 63 seconds to TKO Miyaguchi, the fastest finish of the night.

The miss: Alivia Bierley outworked Onley over three rounds but didn't get the call. It is Onley's first professional loss in seven fights — and the weight-cut storyline that followed Bierley all week turned out to be a non-issue: she hit 135.5 on the scale.

What it means

Season 10 now stands at 42 UFC contracts awarded with one week left — up from 38 before Tuesday. Week 10 closes the season on October 13, headlined by Aline Pereira, the sister of Alex Pereira, against former ONE Muay Thai champion Smilla Sundell in a women's bantamweight bout.

The storyline to watch is LaGrange: 7-1 with all seven wins by finish, now dropping back down to a middleweight division the UFC keeps restocking. And Everett is one of the stranger Cinderella stories the Contender Series has produced — a member of Dana White's own staff, now officially a UFC fighter.
