UFC 332 delivered one of the wildest cards of the year: 14 fights, 11 finishes, and a main event where the winner lost the striking battle on the stat sheet.
Natalia Silva defeated Wang Cong by unanimous decision after five rounds to close the show. The strange part: Wang outlanded Silva 109-98 in significant strikes across the 25 minutes — and still lost every judge's card. It is the kind of result that will fuel "robbery" talk, but the judges saw five rounds of effective control going one way while the raw numbers went the other.
The knockout parade
Eleven of fourteen fights ended by KO/TKO — a 79% finish rate for the card:
- Payton Talbott knocked out former champion Deiveson Figueiredo in round 1 (2:09). The stat line is absurd: Figueiredo outlanded Talbott 25-5 in significant strikes — then got starched. One punch erases 25.
- Anthony Wint needed 23 seconds to knock out Lucas Armand — 12 strikes thrown, 1 absorbed, done.
- Johnny Walker stopped Mick Parkin with a knee at 3:35 of round 1.
- Alexander Hernandez knocked out Rafael dos Anjos in round 2, a rough night for the former champion.
- Eric Nolan and Court McGee combined for 219 significant strikes before Nolan ended it by KO in round 3 — the clear Fight of the Night frontrunner on volume alone.
- Roman Kopylov, Esteban Ribovics, Marcus McGhee, Imanol Rodriguez and Jacobe Smith all scored first-round (or early) KO/TKO wins.
- Damian Pinas stopped Andrey Pulyaev in 1:15.
The three decisions: Silva-Wang, Roberto Soldic over Khaos Williams, and Ismail Naurdiev over Marvin Vettori — the last one a 76-74 striking split across three rounds, about as close as a decision gets.
What the numbers say
Two of the night's biggest results went to the fighter who was losing the striking stats when the fight ended — Silva (outlanded 109-98) and Talbott (outlanded 25-5). It is a useful reminder that strike counts describe volume, not damage. The judges, for once, agreed with the damage.
